That's right, Half-Life: Opposing force, take control of Adrian Shephard, and experience Black Mesa all over again from the eyes of a military agent.

So I really enjoyed half life 1, and I thought maybe I could get an expansion pack- What the forget am I saying?

So my good friend Chris buys me a copy of Half life: Opposing force for my birthday, and it looks very promising. I wanted to get it before, but I couldn't get my mom's credit card to work. Those douchebags at Chase wouldn't let it through, but it wasn't because of credit. I think it was their security system or something. Anyway, I've played through for about 2 hours, and It's pretty intersting. I saw a video of it on Youtube, and it looked like it had a larger weapon roster than the original Half-Life. What's really intersting is the monkey wrench, it doesn't move as fast as the crowbar, but it has a secondary attack that OBLITERATES your enemies. It literally smashes them to pieces. Along with that, you later on find an army knife, which still isn't as good as the crowbar, but it moves much faster. So far, I have the Monkey Wrench, the Army Knife, the Desert Eagle, the Pistol, and a Shotgun. I could've had a machine gun if I killed my comrades earlier, but I decided not to. Not like this is Fallout 3 or anything. Anyway, lets get to the main point.

Half-Life: Opposing Force is loving awesome.

orly?

Opposing force is my favorite of the original half-life games.

Sniper rifle? SAW? green thingy that shoots green stuff? all awesome. That only thing I didn't like was the final boss, seemed too easy and short.

I was disappointed when Shepard didn't make an appearance in half-life 2.

Wouldn't be too surprised if he showed up in ep3.

Hell, he'd better.

Why would he?

He has no official connection to the story, It wasn't even made by valve.

Whats with all the friends wanting stupid stuff in Half Life 2: Ep3, like Portal Guns and stuff.

Considering ep 3 will take place on apature's ship its possible there might be portal guns, Maybe not useable though :o

Adrian Shepard isn't stupid... :(

Also, it's possible because of this:

Quote from: The Awakening Steam mod page
Awakening is a Half-Life 2 singleplayer mod where the player discovers what happened to Adrian Shepard (Half-Life: Opposing Force), what happened a bit before Gordon Freeman arrival at City 17, and where the antlions come from.

Note that future official releases on the Half-Life 2 story might contradict with this mod.

The mod should have a playtime of roughly one hour leading you trough a intro and 5 playable levels. Starting at a underground complex much like Black Mesa, leading you trough a outdoor snow environment into a Russian submarine base, an early combine citadel structure and a ancient location that the combine is researching.

I am getting it this Thursday.

I got pretty far in this game. I beat Blue Shift though, great game, though WAY WAY WAY too many vortiguants. I wanted to stab someone every time I saw one. Other than that, good game.

Blue Shift seemed kind of....bad. To me, anyway.

The liked the displacer weapon, it  reminds me of the portal gun. I have heard we will not play as gordan in HL:3, so there is a small chance shephard might come back. Also there are few parts in the game where I thought I heard him talk.
Times I heard him possibly talk:
1. I had just got the sniper and all my fellow marines where dead. Popped around a corner and killed a black ops and i heard "Sniper school sure payed off today."
2.So anyways I made made into the lamba building, I order my  medic to heal me, but as I pussed the use key I head "MEDIC!".
