I'm sorry but you don't know that Nuclear power is a hot commodity now. Especially now with new legislation against CO2 output on coal plants. Oh and it's way more efficient than Wind power, plus it doesn't need to be subsidized in order for people to actually make them.

It's beginning to be, yes.  My point was that nuclear has been ignored and shamed (The China Syndrome, Three Mile Island media coverage, etc.) because of the various political tensions in the scientific community.  You are totally right about it's efficiency and all that, and I'm saying that's why it shouldn't be ignored.

So, don't get all offended or anything, but you missed my point on that one.  Sorry for being ambiguous, if I was.

You know Duckmeister is intelligent because he can talk about watered-down science textbooks and puts two spaces after his period. It's almost like he's a professional typist or something.

Yeah, my point was this is a forum. The two spaces after a period thing is syntax for professional typists. All he is trying to do is sound smarter than he really is by talking about hot-topic issues and mimic-ing the style of a real typographer.

You've got to be kidding me.  What is this crap about science textbooks, I was talking politics.  And the two spaces thing is a habit, I've been doing it forever, it just looks right to me.  I'm not trying to appear smart by pressing the space bar twice.  If it bother you THAT much that I press a freakin' button twice, you need to get a life.

So thanks again Thief for derailing yet another topic, and let's get back to what yuki was talking about.

I'm sorry that you're too shallow to realize that it's not.

But you're a religious zealot, I doubt you could understand things aren't starkly black and white.

It's not being ignored and shamed, you're saying?

Well, not as much as it was in the 80's, with the examples I had above.  But still, hormesis isn't recognized by anyone, and the public and media still aren't in favor of it.  Look at Nevada with that nuclear waste dump fiasco.  Media said it could kill millions of people (knowing that's a lie) and everyone was against it.

Anyways, let's get this back on topic.

No, you're just stupid. Let's single out individual events because of bad management and poor decision making and blame Nuclear power, because it's SCARY OH GOD RADIOACTIVE CLOUDS EVERYWHERE MAN, THEY'RE KILLING THE DAISYS OH GOD /me hits pipe

Yeah so, I know this because I have ANS members in my family.

Oh and let's discount our stockpiles of nuclear warheads that are dismantled because of the Cold War. Yeah, but let's be smug tophats and include it anyway!

I was saying that the view you just described is incorrect and stupid.  That's what I've been saying all along, that nuclear power is good and that's it's stupid to believe it isn't.  Tell me what the problem is with that?

You're dumb and superficial.

Praise Jesus.

Praise Jesus.

Okay, so, you're in favor of nuclear power, I'm in favor of nuclear power, what's the problem?

I guess I don't understand.  You seem to be in favor of nuclear power, right?  I agree with that.

You don't realize that it's an industry that benefits from not receiving publicity within the media.

Yes, I agree with that statement as well.  Most of the publicity that nuclear power gets is bad publicity, saying that "OHMIGOSH, terrorists could attack it and cause a meltdown! "A speck of it 300 miles away could cause 80 million cancer deaths!

etc.

I still don't understand where we differ.

What might this quarrel be about?

Duckmeister: ARGUER OF THE YEAR!

I'm not going to speak for Ronin, but I believe his point is that you're a moron.
