Zombies in Left4Dead

I saw two zombies fighting each other instead of the survivors.

The only time i'd see this happen is if i'm playing as an infected and i'm the one attacking them or another player's attacking them

The Zombies do a lot of stuff when you're not around. You can see them puking, fighting, leaning against walls, walking around, laying down, tripping, and other things.

It's supposed to happen. In the dev. commentary one talks about the behavior of unalert zombies which includes sitting on the ground, leaning against a wall, vomiting, and fighter with each other. Or something like that.
