Fallout 3: Where do I find the GOOD weapons? (Locked)

Bought Fallout 3.

Escaped the vault.

Really suckish at this.

Where can I find some good weapons and ammo that will help me out until I get to a stronger level? Perferably a shotgun, machine gun, and the alien blaster.

Grenades are in the mailboxes and stuff in Springvale, I believe, and shotguns are occasionally dropped by raiders (In the double-barrel form).

Machine guns and a bunch of stuff can be found at Super Duper Mart, and there is a Sniper Rifle hidden in a hollowed out rock around the (outside) perimeter of Megaton.

The Shotgun is the best weapon. Find it and repair it like it's your own child.

But the main reason why I need guns is to avoid having my ass handed to me BY super mutants. I only have a baseball bat, and a chineese pistol right now.

And a load  of other crap that i'm gonna try to unload for bottlecaps.

Uhh, I think I remember it being North/North East of Megaton.

If you go to Megaton and talk to Moira, she sends you out there so she can write her book.

At any rate, make a run to rivet city and you can get anything you need. It isn't that hard to get there.

Go to megaton and ask for the super duper market quest from the shopkeeper at The Craterside Supply.

Go to the location indicated on your map. Kill everyone inside and grab all the loot. You should find a shotgun somewhere around there.

You might get ambushed at the store. The people outside might have a shotgun.

After you have a shotgun, kill super mutants. Take their hunting rifle.

Congratulations, you now have the two weapons I completed a bit over half the game with. Make sure to grab all the sniping related perks for your hunting rifle.

Lincoln's rifle is the Museum of Natural History. It's full of ghouls, and there's a lot of super mutants between where you are now and there. The alien blaster is out somewhere, consult the wiki. There is a limited supply of ammo and you'll need energy weapon skill. (You already did this)
