I am considering buying Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, but I want to know a few things first;

* What do you think about the game?

* Will it work with these specs?

   Windows Vista: Home Premium
   4GB of RAM
Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator, what comes standard in most PCs)

* Can I play with people on Steam servers?

*Can I install it on more than one PC?

If most of these check out, I'll probably have it and Counter-strike in a few days.

It runs on the ep1 engine. Yes you can play it.

* Can I play with people on Steam servers?
Yes
*Can I install it on more than one PC?
Yes, you'll have to download Steam and the game on each PC though.

In my opinion hl2dm isn't worth spending money on, but you can get it for free if you have an nvidia card.

If I buy it, it's gonna be on a disk (Counter-Strike: Source includes it), so will I be able to play with people on steam servers without using steam?

Ah well. Can it still be installed on more than one PC?

Yes. You login to your steam account and you can download* and play the game on any pc.

* or install from that useless bit of plastic called a cd

I'm gonna get CD if anything. I don't really like steam, I tried on one of my comps and it just really slowed it down. (Not the one I'm currently using.) Maybe I'll try it again.

The cd requires you to still install steam smart one

And steam needs to be running to play it.

Also if steam slows his pc, His pc sucks. Chuck it in a skip.

Sounds more like it's your fault and not Steam's. My PC is bad and doesn't get slowed down by it.

However, you can only be logged into one account at a time on one computer.

If steam lags down your computer you need a forgetton more RAM
