The Single player was the gold of the game. The storyline was amazing, and was executed so well it had me in awe the entire time.

Well you know, games with a story mode are often boring after you finish them. Only if you have online play does it not be boring after completion

but you can say different for some of valve's epic games.

CoD4 is a multiplayer game. Single player is practically just a bonus feature.
