Will Wright leaves Maxis and EA

The designer behind The Sims and Spore has left Electronic Arts, the publisher announced today, starting a new "think tank" known as Stupid Fun Club, a venture that has EA's backing.

"The entertainment industry is moving rapidly into an era of revolutionary change," said Will Wright. "Stupid Fun Club will explore new possibilities that are emerging from this sublime chaos and create new forms of entertainment on a variety of platforms. In my twelve years at EA, I've had the pleasure to work alongside some of the brightest and most talented game developers in the industry and I look forward to working with them again in the near future."

but that doesn't mean he's leaving gaming. In fact some of his biggest ideas are for future games, he told us today.

When asked if he felt like he was leaving his gaming fanbase behind, he said no.

"That's definitely not the case, some of the coolest things I'm thinking of working on are new games," he said.

No more EA to mess games up? :D

The only 2 good games EA ever made, ever, was BF1942 simply because it was glitchy, fun, and hilarious, and that hockey game where you could customize all your players and make them elmo-bots, ninja turtles, and darth maul. Then you'd just make them loving crazy aggressive and they'd beat the stuff out of the opposing team, great game.

I don't see why everyone hates an extreme hatred for EA. They publish most of the best selling games, these include.

• Crysis
• Mirror's Edge
• Battle Field
• Left4Dead
• The Sims
• and some other stuff

EA is o.k.
The only thins i don't like about them is there ability to copy them self's and not come out with anything original. (other than the sims of course)

Half of their stuff is sequels to their games. Its quite annoying.
Battlefield series? that's a good example.
