Why do people hate Halo so much?

I love it, but a lot of people who do play it are handicaps and everyone generalizes it as terrible.

I don't give a damn if it's repetitive, as long as the levels are fun and I have fun slapping a grenade on some aliens face and running away, I'm fine.

I have to disagree about that, it's a game that gets easily bbrown town after the first 2 months. The only mode that I like in it is "Griffball". And I'm starting to hate FPS's because, as "das bo schitt" said, every single one tries to copy it, therefore it becomes sadly, a pile of garbage.
