Author Topic: [Tutorial]Making Add-Ons With Blender(Not Modeling)  (Read 157164 times)

I'm unclear on the parenting process.  When you say "parent to", you mean making the object the child of a parent, right?

yes

Ok, I got a model in blockland for once, but the rotation always seems to be everything except the direction I want.  Does rotating the armature change rotation of the model in-game, or do I always have to rotate the whole model?

Also, I'm not entirely sure how to texture the model in-game.  Do I just name the texture in the zip after the materials?

Rotate the armature yes Niliscro.

If its upside down but facing right side out. Then yes, Rotate the armature.

For the texutre thing, yes as well.

For example, Name the material in blender Black, then get a texture in your zip named Black.

EDIT: Somehow I lost my buttons window at the bottom and can't get it back.

Last time it happened I just pressed shift+alt and it came back but it's not comnig back.

Help?

EDIT2: Oh thank god. Found it. Shift+space.

Thanks Cy, that saves a lot of guesswork.  One thing, though.  I'm assuming the direction the armature is pointing in is the direction the model will point, but is there any way to determine if it will be upsidedown?

No, really the only way to tell is by testing ingame.

Then adjusting what is needed.

Ok, thanks, but one last thing.  The model's rotation from the first-person view is different than the third-person view.  Is there a reason for this?
I've tried flipping it and no cigar.  It also won't do the first-person animation, and I'm guessing it's because of this issue?

Other than that, I feel accomplished :D

Edit:
So I fixed the rotation issues, but it's not doing the first-person animation, still.

Well the armatures are patented to Detail32 correct?

Sometimes the script tells why also.

I found out a good way recently.
In edit mode, select your bone and go to the Armature panel. Then enable Axes. If Z isn't pointing up, select your bone and press ctrl r and rotate it until Z is pointing up.

Oh, I'll have to test that out when I get back home.

Also, about the pm I send you. The animation was right and we got it to work in the script.

So we looked at it ingame and it was really, really fast. So he tried to slow it down and them I tried to slow it down through the options in the exporter.

That messed up everything so now were stuck and can't fix it. We are working on it though.

Yeah, it is.  I'm not sure why it isn't animating in first-person though, since I pretty much used the sword script.

For my AWP I also want a reloading animation for the clip.

But when I go to do it I add a new action and all, but when I go through it it plays the roostering animation even though its not there.

Like the frames play it even though its a new animation.

Help?

It might be because your armatures are different objects, and you simply added a new action to one of the armatures. Make your bones all part of one armature, it's way easier.

Oh, ok.

So join them all together with control+j?

EDIT:: Ok, fixed it. But now it wont let me rotate the armatures.
