Probably the greatest mod I have ever played, it turns BF2 into a Military sim. You have no hud except for close squad mates, that means no cross-hair no minimap no ammo counter, you do get a map if you press M. Everyone who plays this is mature and takes it seriously, its just how the mod works and its epic fun. If you don't have a mic you're letting your teammates down and you can't let your team know the position of enemy's. After playing this mod for a few hours you don't even realise that its actually BF2, it feels like a new better game.

I don't recommend this mod if you like to muck around, don't like to wait or like do rambo's, stealing vehicles when your squad isn't assigned to it will most likely get your perma banned from the server. Its really like real life except with BF2 aspects.

When a server start/next map players get a chance to make a squad and name it what you are doing, lets say I named my squad after one of the heli's, that means I'll pretty much spend the entire game flying a helicopter around picking up squads and dropping them off, though you really have to be skilled for that. All I do in this mod is lead squads or be in the squads as a combat medic, you still go around capping points but it takes absolutely ages, some times you spend the entire round defending a single point. Rounds can last up to an hour on average, when you "die" you lay on the ground for about 1-10 mins until a medic comes and saves you, you can give-up but that can cost Reinforcements points which is what you don't want to do. Weapons are somewhat accurate, unlike other reality mods for games, project reality actually lets you aim, I've killed people from a fair distance though I missed about 5-8 times before I even hit them once. The game modes are really great as well, insurgency is the US vs Terrorist pretty much, as a terrorist you get your car bombs and stolen RPG with WWII weapons.

There's a lot to be explained about this mod, all I can say is if you're looking for a Reality Mod that really is enjoyable and isn't too realistic, Project Reality really delivers. They're training server but they mostly empty, my suggestion is to join a server and sit in a squad and ask questions as you go along, quite a lot of people are new to it as well, every time I've been in a server we had at least 1 new guy.

I got this a while ago :D

So hypothetically, if someone nicked at your feet with a pistol until you were incapacitated, you would be lying there for 10 minutes. And if someone were to blow your chest off with a shotgun/LMG, you would only lie there for a minute?

Not sure, I doubt it, its mainly random time you can stay incapacitated.

Oh. I might try it out. It seems like fun.

Oh, fun! 1.8 gigs!
Acutally 3308MB's, you Need the levels. Annoying.. yes (Well not for me seeing as I can download it from my website for free/top speed 1.1MB's) but worth it.

Do people still hog the vehicles in the game like they did in "vanilla" BF2? or is it more civilized? I really like flying, but it always seemed liked everyone just runs for the nearest aircraft and just jumps out over an objective.

I might DL the mod, I'll have to reinstall BF2 first though.

I always use my parachute, it's so funny.  Seriously, who uses a parachute off of a 10 foot high drop?

Parachutes are only available in the Pilot kit and parachutes can only be used after 100 meters (I think) of falling.

Like I said unless you are in a squad that has its name same as the vehicle you're in you'll most likely get instant Banned. So the only real way people rush to get to vehicles is making the first squad with the aircraft name. However like I said once again unless you're pro at flying (Meaning you never crash and fly around the level for like 30 mins straight) you can't fly any aircraft, people who do the hole squad thing and get into a heli and crash it pretty fast they'll get banned.
