Author Topic: Push up hurting  (Read 3261 times)

explain that to your gym instructor..you've reached your limit...overdoing is hazardous to your health..
Overloading is the best way to build muscle.

I'm a naturally stressed person.

I used to get aches by doing Judo.

i think i can do a pullup.

i guess i will find out when my life depends on it :D

i was forced to do 70 sit ups and i nearly threw up.
I also once did an obstacle course and I dived onto the landing pad from the rock climbing wall (stupid idea) and then my neck hurted really bad and now i have on and off neck pains every 5 months. I once had to run 3 miles around the school parking lot and a few hours after that I couldnt stand up for more than 30 seconds.
I also had to lift 50 pound blocks for my parents and their construction, 2 hours later, I couldnt lift my arms.

God damn I'm perverted. I thought you meant push-up bra.

Building mussels at a young age will do wonders for your growth, how about you have some tea and coffee while you're at it.[/sarcasm]

If your mussels are hurting when you move them then you probably strained them, that's always fun. I also visit a chiropractor for a good old bone adjustment, fun having nearly broken my spine in the past.

I used to crack my wrists so much for fun and to gross people out, I did it so much I can barley do 5 push ups since I screwed up my wrists.

Well yesterday in Gym we were doing the presidental tests for push-ups. I did 51, which is usually my average. All yesterday my upper arms hurt, but today it's worse, whenever I move the slightest, my upper back and chest muscles start to ache. Also, my ribs are fragile as forget, not only can I bend them again but they hurt this morning, and today we did the sit-up test, which loving hurt, really bad.

Anyhow, you guys ever done a lot of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, etc. and have muscle aches for a few days?

Something similar happened like this last year in physical conditioning. Our teacher was making us run the mile (I was out of shape), and I ran a 6:28. I felt sick the rest of the day and my legs were REALLY sore for the rest of the week. Soon after, Lacrosse started up and I started to get back into shape. Then, after a couple months, our teacher made us run the mile again, but this time I got 5:54 and wasn't sore at all.

The moral of the story is that you're out of shape. Stop playing BL and do things outside. The aching will go away in about a week.

Wait 51 push ups to fatigue or 51 in a minute? Either way I did better ;D :cookieMonster:

I'm on my school's baseball team, and I barely play Blockland. I did 50 push ups which is around 20 more than the other kids, I'm not out of shape :c

@Madmitten
70 sit ups is easy dude

51 pushups Jaymz

Yes 51 push ups, but like was it a time limit? Or until you can't do anymore?

i was forced to do 70 sit ups and i nearly threw up.

Try 1000 in an hour... That's tough. Do 100, then 50 push ups. Repeat. Then we ran a half mile to cool off and ended by doing leg lifts. Stupid conditioning...

I thought I saw 51 pull-ups...

Anyways, I think I am fat, so I am just going to leave this topic...
