Author Topic: Blood, It's Overused.  (Read 3556 times)

What the forget is up with modern games, all they are now is 23091293874019236549278340923 752390492034 gallons of blood.  What happened to the old, awesome games, when you didn't need to pop someone's head off to have fun.  Sure some guys use it well, like VALVe, do any of their games have space marines running around with chainsaw guns ripping everyone's faces off?  Nope.  I think Apogee is right with the Duke Nukem series, his lines just work, especially "I'm gonna rip your head off and stuff down your neck." As you see, it sounds like Apogee is making fun of the space marines.  But now, you're seeing games like "Call of the Gears of Halo 2347952" I'm starting to believe that "Close Range" will turn out to be a real game, and sell millions.  Who agrees that it's getting annoying?

Call me sick but, I didn't think that Halo, Gears of War 2, and Call of Duty 5 didn't have enough blood.

The only thing that ticks me off about blood is that it gets an immediate "M" rating, and you have to get your parents for it.

I do say Gears of War, but I HAD to just mix names of the games that are way too hyped.

Meh:

Yes: because it can be a little overused at times, and sometimes badly.

no: because when i look back at old games like mortal combat its all really about trying to attempt a scary/tense/empty atmosphere, a splatter of blood on the camera is only annoying if you cant see.

With Halo, i don't see how Master Chief can bleed being that he's covered mostly in armor, the bullets can pierce some of it though

But Gears of War 2? Seriously, have you played that part where you are swallowed by a giant worm and have to cut your way out?

I did, I just didn't think it was gory enough.

Wow, you just contradicted yourself.

"Call of the Gears of Halo 2347952"

I snickered.

But blood can get annoying, if there's too much.

I agree with Regulith.

But Left 4 Dead is an exception, because what's a zombie game without gallons of blood?

Exactly.
'Cept Plants vs. Zombies.

Blood: There's not enough of it.
Gore: Makes Fallout and GoW hilarious fun.

I DO like Fallout's I dunno why, it just makes it awesome.

maybe because the eyeball that your enemy is so fondly attached to has the potential to fly over the Patomic if you head shot him with a sniper rifle. On a related note, I once shot a mole rat with a mini-nuke because it scared the stuff out of me when it attacked from behind.
