I hate how parents over react to us having guns in a game andd shooting people. My mom is ok with aliens. (hl) but not ok with humans. (TF2)

I'm going to let me kids play those games when they are younger then how old I have to be for TF2. 18 wtf? I don't want to wait 2-6 years!

At least my dad doesn't care if I play Left 4 Dead.

My parents never cared.
In-fact, I played Wolf3D and DOOM with my father from ages 2-5, before I found Duke 3D, Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark.

My dad let me play Olivion at 8 yrs old. Then I got the PC version! lulz

My parents cared and my dad saw me playing GoW2 and he said, "I'm ok with this but nothing worse." And I was like, "This is one of the goriest games I've EVER PLYED!!!" So now they let me play anything.

Yeah, my cousin offered me GTA:VC and my dad said no, even when I told him I played it before. Finally my aunt told him it was, "perfectly fine" and I got it. Lol.

Bleh. My dad doesn't care about stuff. My mom hates guns, period

If parents think games can influence children this much, imagine what going outside will do to them.

Well, it's not only that it can infulence children, it also effects their unconciouss. You tend to be more nervous, scared or violent when playing those games often.

(but I must feed my addiction! Muwhahahahahaha!)

I play those games a lot. I don't get scared, I'm not violent, and not nervous at all. I pretty well grew up on games.

My mums happier with me shooting aliens too, But i told her that was tribal to aliens and now she doesn't bother.

My parents hate it when I play Blockland. My Dad gets bored when he's not playing video games. My Dad loves to play the PS3, he is always getting new games. He almost encourages video game violence. My Mom likes it when someone plays Wii Bowling with her, I hate Wii.

My parents didn't know whether to care or not sometimes, they were hellbent on keeping me from playing Doom (at the age of 12 on our ancient computer) and watching futurama (at 15 what the forget). Other times they just didn't care, like for Half life and south park.

We have much in common, lets be fwends :D

My parents is a lot like one of those moms who wouldn't let me get gta4 because she thinks it encourages violence in those who play it. If it has a cover picture with a dude that has a huge gun in his hand, then she is against it. She also thinks that grand theft auto 4 had a bunch of people with picket signs yelling for it to get banned. I had to literally beg her to let me get tony hawk underground 2 because it had mild language and blood. If only I had pushover parents like you guys, my life would be complete :D.

At a young age my parents let me play violent video games because they knew I was smart enough to know what's real and what's fake, If something happens and they blame it on video games, they're loving handicapped.
