Notch should enable how many traffic hits his server. If the guest is denied, thay will be asked to refresh.
I think he is doing that right now, because minecraft is up.

I know. With the minecraft.jar, someone could play the game offline without purchasing it, I believe.

go to app data/.minecraft and delete the bin folder that will make it redownload
