I like when Notch sticks to his own work for Minecraft. He understands Minecraft's style more than most modders and I'd rather him and the rest of Mojang make their game rather than take mods from the community and make them official.

I use to not like them. But after discovering the performance has doubled since I last tried them (and with a bit of tweaking) I went ahead and started using them again.
