I personally have the default pack with a few edit tidbits here and there.  For instance, using the HD and custom water/lava animation patches I have custom lava, water and portal textures which look absolutely amazing.  I also have the 256x HD pack's skeleton, zombie, zombie pigman, others.

Why are there so many texture packs anyway? The original graphics are great, or at least good enough. I don't know why so many people obsess over them so much that they redraw every texture in the entire game.
