If you used the demo and replaced the jar with the pre-release, would it work? I own the game; I'm just curious if it would.
The demo jar doesn't need to check if you're a real user.
The pre-release, and every other official jar does check if you're a logged in, real user via sessions. It would not work.

Incorrect, you can play in Offline mode without being logged in. All it requires is the jar to be in the right spot.

You have to log in with a legit account at least once for it to let you play in offline mode.

I love you notch.

I'm actually looking forward to the round moon/sun, as well as the moon cycle

It'll feel nice IMO, I mean most the texturepacks I use have round moons/suns

Round moon and sun actually look kind of cool. :D

And does anyone know where I can find the .jar of Minecraft Alpha, pre-Halloween update? That was a very nostalgiac time for me and I want to play it some more.

Somewhere on the main page, it says that distributing the .jar is breaking the terms of policy.

I'm very aware

What does that have to do with anything

I REALLY loving hope by this he doesn't mean "all people in the south are stupid forgetnuts lol".

well, now that we have a round moon, we can...

NOOOOOO...

I had the round moon and sun from Painterly for a while. I'll be glad to see moon cycles.

I just tried, but the actual moon is like 10 pixels wide. It came out crazy ugly as forget. You'd need one of those HD Texture Pack upgrades.
