I just don't understand why people use launchers

Putting files from one folder into another isn't difficult, unless I'm misunderstanding the reason for launchers

It's incredibly easy and a lot quicker than using the files, plus the technic launcher does background stuff too I think, and it's easy to add mods too.

The only way to get it is via the launcher or downloading a modpack folder someone uploads but you still need the launcher because it merges modpack.jar + minecraft.jar and unmerges them when you quit, and there's no .exe in the folder.

The most recent version tells you when and where dungeons are generated, so if you see one generate and you don't think you'll be able to spot a giant loving airship you might want to pause the game and write down the coordinates
