you can't make the chest tamper proof because there is no mod that locks minecart chests due to them being entities and not blocks.

the minecart also still takes damage if you hit it with something and is affected by gravity, meaning if what's under it explodes, it falls down into the pit and likely explodes with an other tnt charge. not like they couldn't open it anyway.

Dinnerbone says he fixed lilypads in relation to boats. He didn't specify how he did it, though. I personally like lilypad bridges, so I'd rather they have collision. But the way he spoke, he might have just made boats not break on them as easily or something.

People suggest that for ladders, but they don't do it. Why? Because that makes no sense. You can't make collision like that without being complicated in some way. You come up the ladder against the wall, then have to move back to go down. Same with the horizontal Lily Pad...
