What in the unholy forget is this thing? It's made of space and making the most horrid of noises

It's a eldrich altar, you need the goggles of Revealing and then you can pop some of those thaumcraft crystals into the slots you will see and then you can get some eldrich artifacts

Yes, those are just mazes from betterdungeons, theres one of a silverfish i think, and a small pyramid, you get a stack of diamonds for completing it

I tried hitting it, mining it, and even pressing my face against it, it just sits there doing nothing of interest

The platform it's floating above goes very far down, probably to bedrock, and emits quite a bit of light

I'm also up to my neck in artifacts and have no idea what to do with them
