not counting oceans, minecraft's water surface has decreased since alpha. WE'RE GOING TO DEHYDRATE TO DEATH BY 2.5

I've noticed that there aren't many ponds in jungles, and a trek to the ocean can be really annoying in them as well.

But even then it probably wouldn't be a big deal so

it's funny because the massive oceans make up for the surface water loss

it's like all of the water in alpha drained and made the oceans 250 times bigger

Alpha Oceans were super deep too.

I guess it's been long enough everyone forgot the purpose of cauldrons. They were originally going to be used for potion brewing, but after they already made it, someone suggested the brewing stand and they made that instead. Cauldrons were left in. They aren't completely useless, but they don't have much use currently.

even without large biomes they're still gigantic

Add log(s) under cauldron, put water in, put mushrooms in, light fire. After a minute, 4 bowls of Mushroom Stew. That would be both nicely logical and annoyingly over-complicating production of it. I like the idea, but then you'd lose the ability to make it on the go.
