Notch said he is definitely making a year and seasons, and maybe an all-winter mode, and an all-summer mode, and then of course Normal. Snow falls during winter.

I commented that snow could be like DF's x/7 water scale. Anything above 4/7, you have to shovel out of the way. With each seventh added, you could move through it slower.

I like the guy's suggestion, who said that half-snow blocks would slow you down and full snow blocks would be like normal blocks.

Either that or there could be loose snow blocks that slow you down greatly, packed snow blocks (from walking on it a bit) and tundra blocks which wouldn't slow you at all.

THAT and Ice blocks.
