Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it

I really like this game, and I have purchased it, but I don't like the night/day thing. I get really bored of waiting until morning, and then pissed off when there are five of the Creepers in my door way and they all explode leaving my house a sad husk of it's former self. Then as I fix it it becomes night-time again and the same thing happens again and again, I can't seem to get any progress done.

Make mines at night and make stairs to your roof so you can lead the creepers away
also check the minecraft wiki on how to craft

 Pixl, dont use gold for tools, use for decor and armor, because gold is just as good as wood on tools.

I understand the whole gist of the game, it's not that I don't get it. I understand crafting.

But good idea; I do have a roof access that I can probably jump down from and lead them away or something. I just wish the day/night transition wasn't so loooooong.

trick to making nights less boring: plot out your above-ground areas with a bunch of torches so you can see everything within a medium-sized space... like at the base of a cliff

if possible make said space flat
