What do you do in the survival thing that's included?

Well if you mean indev.

You collect resources starting with wood and possibly dirt if you want too. Make a wooden pick, go mine some random rocks, get a better pick or maybe a hoe and start farming. And whatever happens then is up to you.

But, exactly 15 minutes after start you will go through a pitchblack hellhole for 15 minutes, night.
Unless you have peaceful on.
