I've got a sweet base on a floating island
the island is just above the cloud layer, so whenever a cloud passes below it it sits right ontop.
I also used like 30 ladders up the sheer spire extending down from it to get up, incredible view from here.
Unfortunately it's on a world that was generated before the island and ocean update.

So I finally found some decent amount of metal.

169 units, exactly. And 42 units of gold. Smelted them, left them on to smelt while I did other things for two minutes.

Then I decided to relocate my four furnaces closer to my mine entrance. And forgot to loving take the metal out of them first. Lost all of it.
So now I'm down to exactly 44 coal, since it was full stacks of coal put in the furnaces, 0 metal and one badly damaged metal pickaxe.

Needless to say, some excessive facedesking was in order. I've actually bruised my loving forehead.

I accidently brushed a tree and caught on fire.

One con about having a base unMderground with water 500 blocks up.

A few textures I have assembled into a single pack for my use.

The armor is all diamond but the leggings, the leggings are iron. Sword is also diamond.

This is on infdev.

Edit: FFFF fell into lava with my diamond armor on D:

I am currently working on a mountain base.
Currently my 'base' is like this:

Small cave in sandpit somewhere in a big forest
Tunnel from that cave leading to road
Road leading to a small sand path
Path leading to a cave, and continuing on
Cave is storage for fort I will build there
Path leading to a long road which leads up a mountain
On top of mountain (which I need a name for, it is above the cloud layer) is cave leading inside.

I have an infdev generated from the other version, so I still have the new trees. :D
