Edit: Oh my god if you get past the stuttering, the game is so badass, I found floating isles with water under them, mushrooms on trees.

Go exploring for your own stuttering, just create a new game,  on peaceful and wander till your game lags your movement but nothing else, you can break and place objects still.

I dunno how to take pics, but it isn't no bullstuff.
I have been there once, just deleted the save since I couldn't move. But floating islands were a cool sight when I got there.

Alright; Say you started a new level, completely from scratch.
What is the first thing you do?

I always climb to the highest point and look for places to build a castle and stuff.

Get as many resources as i can, then build a house and start mining once night hits, and on the 2nd day i look for and start to build a bigger building on a cliff. afterwords, i connect them with a tunnel, or just expand each until they are connected.

Get wood, make worktable, make pickaxe. Then I just go from there.
