Things to note that i've read on the minecraft forums about the new things..
You can make Iron Doors now.
There are wooden pressure plates, stand on it, door opens, when you get off of it it'll close automatically(awesome, now you don't have to turn around).
There's also a lever/switch of some sort, but I haven't seen or read about it in action, supposedly put it either next to a door or connected with wire to a door. Pressing it will open/close the door.
New red ore, it's copper. Placing it makes wires that can connect pressure-plates or lever/switch thing(I'm assuming) to doors.
