I want to save my inventory to game, but I think I need to save it to world 1.mine or something and I have no idea where it is

oh! i just go to: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves, click on the world where i want to edit my inventory and then just drag n' drop the "level.dat" into invedit.

edit: also, you should use the "open from game" and "save to game" drop down menus.
