I'm still confused about this.
On two seperate occasions (one I was on a friend's game, other was an smp server I was in with Nickthesushi) we hit a yellow (not gold :u) ore and it exploded. Any idea what it is?

If you use a custom texture pack, then it should be the TNT Texture.
