I get to the Minecraft Files by opening the Texture Pack folder. Just look around there. You may have to go up a Folder.

squid are found in large lakes or seas. turn off music and get on a boat, then sail around. listen for the sound of footsteps on sand or dirt, then go down and search for the squid.

squid usually spawn in water at least 5 blocks deep
