What are you talking about? Multiplayer is fine. My friend hosts a server on the computer he plays the game on and it works just fine with 6 players.

Only a few times have I had a good experience on SMP. The rest of the time, invisible monsters and other problems are everywhere

Then you probably have your difficulty on something different. That was the fix for me and everybody else I know. And plus that was way back in Alpha, reinstall Minecraft.

Only on some servers do I get the invisible people but the lag is still absolute rage

He means that it isn't possible to create infinite lava pools by creating a 2x2 pond and putting lava in the corners, like water.

Yes, exactly. I don't usually like exploiting things, but if I can exploit one liquid block type, why not the other? Were infinite Lava pools abused heavily back a few updates ago, because I seem to remember having a + shaped Lava pool, taking the middle part out, and the four Lava blocks around it filled it in by themselves.
