Im asking because I have no clue what this means. What is a 'seed' for a world?
Seed as in it takes things from a source and puts them in.That's as well as I can put it.God, haven't you ever heard of seeding?
No, it has nothing to do with that at all. When using "random" values on a computer, those values have to come from somewhere. That "somewhere" is a seed value. If you use the same seed value on two random number generators, they will both come up with the same sequences of random numbers. What that means is if you generate two worlds using the same seed value, they'll be identical. However, there is no way to modify the seed to influence what types of blocks spawn in the world. However, if you knew the seed for any of your old worlds, you could generate them again, only with the new blocks.
Where s is seed, then S * 2 - 1 is somewhat the concept. If you get he same seed multiple times, same world. It doesnt affect block types, only positions.
