Also, has anyone come up with a decent default currency item yet?

I'm thinking either slime balls or lightstone dust, because they're unobtainable by normal players so the OP's would put money into the ecosystem the same way Mints and the Government do in reality.

Or you could just ask a modder on the MC forums to come up with a currency mod.

You open minecraft.jar in .minecraft/bin with WinRAR or 7zip.

extract/open is the same thing in this case. then when you're done compress it to a .zip and then change the extension to .jar
at least, thats how you do it on a mac :3 i've only used mods on a mac

i have winrar

Then use that.  Right click minecraft.jar, click Open With, and select WinRAR.
