Happened to me too.

Have trees always been different in different biomes? I spawned in a snowy place and I found pine trees with none of those white bark trees. They were taller than usual too.

First tunnel I walked into led to this huge lava area that had diamonds and redstone
Just in one trip mining I got 110 redstone and 5 diamond
Going to go back down soon

Also, what really good things can I make with redstone?
