What happens if you put a cake on a half block?

Does it fill the space?

Or does it awkwardly float?

It floats above it, also removing the half block destroys the cake.

Is there any possible way to make Multi-player servers faster? My internet connection is fine, and i'm sure it's not the server, because on every server with >2 people is really slow, as in mobs take forever to attack, when you finish mining a block it doesn't break unless you wait ~ 3 minutes, and when I try to talk it takes ~ 2 minutes to send after pressing enter.

This really sucks :(

Long before I had the multiplayer problem, I was working fine with the computer I have right now. Now, I just go batstuff crazy and fall through the ground and land on a cave surface.
