C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\.minecraft

Mods are installed into the .jar file so you'll need some sort of program (I use IZArc mainly because it can open a stuffton of other files too and is free and easy to use).

Well no but eventually the single player can get boring, I've played for hours on end, but with new mobs it's still the same but you're interacting with a new mob.

But with adventure mode you get to interact with everything all over again.
