A few things which annoy me about the wasteland mod
Creepers have 2x radius
bonemeal can make grass
Trees without leaves look bad, at least make it so the leaves can't drop saplings

I'm loving my wasteland world. I'm working on conserving wood and building a small home. The first few nights I lived in a hut built over a netherrack fire. Provided light before I had coal. Also, one weird thing is when it rained, some piles of snow fell as-well.

Planning on making a small town and attempting to become prospering, already got a small grassy hill near my desert basin to get friendly mobs.

Wastelands don't have leaves period.
And wastelands are supposed to look weird, that's why they're not normal.
