sure it's overly complicated but it looks a lot better than having glass in the floor IMO

and the complication just makes it cooler :P

Glass in the floor looks better when you use Default Textures and not some texture pack that makes Glowstone look like Light boxes

Nothing. But a bubbly molted glowing mess that you get for glowstone in The Default pack is not as nice and looks better behind glass or a hatch

i already tried that, i couldn't figure out a way for the torch that powers the piston in the middle that pushes the block through the floor to be powered down temporarily in order for it to be pushed away to make way for the other piston to push it's block up.
