I found 3 ores of it. I dont remember how deep in a mine it was, or where I was, but I did it. I dont know anything about it.

Just don't dig directly beneath you. Just like the rules of normal world mining.

This brings up a question: What do we call the "normal world" in Minecraft? The Nether is below, the Aether is above, but what's the main middle part called? It's not quite "Earth"...

Just dig as if you were on the surface world.
It's like having lava below you except your items won't burn up if you fall.
