It doesn't fit in with the whole idea of Minecraft.

Minecraft doesn't have a predefined idea, it's still getting content added to it. Developers can take it in any direction they want to. Is that a good idea according to all the players? No, but it is to the people making the game.

idea for exp
since the shadows of the exp orbs still stay even if they have a different texture
i'll make them transparent, so it will seem like you get exp just from killing them.

My skin is really basic, just a recolored default with a few changes here and there.

Also I'm working on a castle-ish building, any suggestions?

Nice skin Joekirk, reminds me of mine. Though mine doesn't have a mouth to symbolize the isolation of Miencraft. /deep

And nice castle. Add a marketplace if there's enough room, and sniper towers at the coreners with chests full of bows and arrows.
