Well not quite. Notch altered the code to make the height limit very easy to change, but it will stay at 128 unless you mod it. The value can be set to 256, 512, 1024, etc.

It's common sense. Would you just go out 50 miles and build all by yourself? No. You would build wherever, defend it, even travel to other's places to try and get some quick loot or battle, etc. etc. I only said that if you're so butthurt about people stealing and stuff, you
can (as an OPTION) build far as forget away so no one can find you.
Chances are you would want to play with friends as well. They'd be with you too. I mean come on, I'm not suggesting a bunch of random people get together, all travel far away and build without ever seeing each other.

i said a vanilla minecraft server without stupid ass bukkit mods, and only
suggested that you can go far away as a deterrent for thieves and stuff, but you can do whatever.
