I find ravines all the time, I had 3 within 2 chunks of my fortress.

you don't find them when you're looking for them, they are like dungeons, you usually find them by accident.

If you say so, I went on for quite a few chunks in a mineshaft before dying at the hands of a blue spider spawn.

Mineshafts are not common in the slightest.
They are just so massively huge, that they're just annoying.

In 1.7 caves were so loving huge, I'd get lost in one for hours, now it's mineshafts, great.

Discoveries in this mineshaft I found by the ravine by my house.

I applied the fix. You should make it bold or something. A blue link against a blue background never is noticable.
