First time I saw that, I tought it was blood, then I saw it was lava.

Tested with water, it also do that.

Lava kept blocking the pathways, so I decided to try and block it up. That's when I discovered they did something to at least lava physics in The Nether. It can keep flowing from the tiniest amounts. Lavafalls can continue from absolutely nothing at the top, where as I used to block the floor off the edge and it'd slowly stop. Maybe it's always been like this, never thought to stop lava there before, but still...

Depends on how far you are
new stuff is generated as you go on, so just explore more to get new content

I don't think there are any major Normal Dimension changes, but you can always generate new chunks

I think Swamp biomes got some changes and Snow biomes are back, that's pretty much it
