He wants it in SMP because the whole item harvesting is useless on Creative. Not sure they'd make Cobwebs craftable considering they're made by spiders. What they should do is make Cobwebs drop from breaking them instead of String.

no, in real life, when you take down a coweb you get strings

With big cobwebs, you cut around the edges, and you got a big webbing. Besides that, string couldn't hold mobs up in the air for like 10 seconds. This is Minecraft, after all.

Maybe shearing webs should give you a web, but a sword gives you string. Maybe have the hold of mobs for the cobwebs slowly weaken as the mobs are in it.

nope but you can put redstone to a block stick to the piston

Can you take just one part of a door at a time?
If you push TNT onto a fire with a piston will it put out the fire?
Can you put TNT in a mine cart?
If you can, does a nearby explosion still activate the mine cart's TNT?

No.
It will, since it's taking the space of the fire.
Into a Chest Minecart, but you can't activate it then. You can only put furnaces (makes powered Minecart) or Chests (makes storage Minecart) into Minecarts currently.
