I think everyone misses the "wow a whole new world" feeling when they first started, but by playing that specific version again, I can guarantee you that you will not feel very nostalgic. It will still have the same flaws, and you will most likely miss most of the newer features. It's useless to argue about it.

the creeps and weirdos mod seems to not fit with minecraft at all. I just usually use bigger ore vein mods and that's it (maybe yogbox once in a while just to spice things up)

It's funny, because I can beat your ass at every aspect of Minecraft.

No, I dislike 1.8.1 because of the annoying as hell sprinting and depth of field stuff they added to it. It completely screwed my feel for the game, love every other aspect that is being released, but I just want the feel I had before.

Haven't actually played a pre-release however, mostly because I love Total War and I have too much homework nowadays.
