i tell them it's a stupid myth thing

You have a choice to use snapshots or not. IMO they should release them monthly with lots of goodies but whatever.

Anyone have a seed with a good sized village in it? Now that villages actually have a bit of liveliness in them I no longer have reason to tear them down for materials.

Anyone have a seed that spawns you near an NPC village?  I want my survival run to be entirely defending a village while establishing a feudal rule over it.

Last I checked on 1.2 Preview, "gimmeabreak" on Superflat spawned me in a Village. Might work on Default worlds, too.

That was there because There was stuffty / no SMP.

I can imagine servers with plug ins trying to exist with secret friday updates
