I figured out the layout of the snapshots.
12w16a:
'12' is for 2012,
'w16' means week 16,
and 'a' means alpha.

The 'a' just means the first snapshot release that week, and they continue in order; a, b, c, d, etc. If there was 3 in one week, they would be 12w16a, 12w16b, 12w16c.

all single player
sheep pen has been turned into a sugarcane farm, and behind me where i took the first picture is a Nether Portal
there's also a huuuuge mine that goes down to a cave which after a few seconds of walking goes straight into a ravine, and there's another cave in the middle of the ravine that goes down to a large cave system that i havnt touched, a mineshaft running through it, and alot of pits of lava.

If you play Creative without TMI, you're doing it wrong anyway.

I like TMI because it allows me to put items in chests in Creative. That's imo the biggest flaw with the gamemode.
