Yes. It says to install mods, then make the files into it's own mod .zip for the installer. That defeats the purpose, because now each .zip is an entire pack of mods you must compile personally anyway.

It's not working on Trifax's server. I set up the rails so they only face correctly when attached to the other. Do I NEED to use smoothstone, or is it simply not functional on SMP?

The block shouldn't matter. I think it's just cause redstone is laggy in SMP, so the pulser can't generate a fast enough signal.
