Author Topic: Minecraft Megathread; yeah its update 1.12 big whoop what about it  (Read 7018352 times)

Turns out now Minecraft is too laggy to run on my older computer.
It's not even an old computer, it's just
asdfasdf
I shouldn't have updated, there's nothing important anyway.

lol @ everyone hating tekkit

probably too stupid to get along without a guide going 1. create new world 2. cut a tree 3. find a rubber tree

Just because they hate it doesn't mean that they're too stupid to use it.

That's a pretty starfish thing to have said. That's like saying oh you don't like rap music? You are just to stupid to understand the beats and rhymes.

Some people just don't like what it adds, and I for one can completely understand why.

Disliking something is not the same as not knowing how to do something.

I don't like tekkit much, mostly because a lot of the things in it take hours to get and the whole purpose of all the industrial stuff is to make your life easier. Put in perspective, a destruction catalyst and a few piles of glowstone created via a condenser and then used at level 12 or so is a gazillion times more effective than a quarry which takes forever to make and attempting to make it faster using combustion engines often results in parts exploding if you spend time doing other things and not paying attention to the machinery.
Considering tekkit is supposed to be using all this technical stuff to the best advantage, I find Equivalent Exchange is just so much more efficient.
On the other hand, it saves a lot of time installing mods :D

If I were to install a lot of mods, they'd be mods that added, for instance, proper weather systems/seasonal changes, the need for warmth and food to function fully, improved AI and more variety to the monsters, more interesting farming and cooking, interesting items that change how the player functions and better armor or weapon mechanics. Not automation.

If the end result of playing the game is that you can continue without doing most of it, that's like admitting half of the game is boring and giving you the option to not play that half anymore instead of fixing it.

I don't like technic end game at all.
All it is is sitting around doing absolutely nothing.

After you build up all the machines you have stuff that mines, fights and even builds for you, there's no point anymore.
I guess on a tekkit multiplayer server you can just try forget with peoples stuff, but you can't even battle eachother because if you both are at the same end game stage of tech you'll both be invincible.

I love mixing Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders with Acid Trip shader. I took a video of the zoom effect Acid Trip has, which happened to be perfect for the water: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-5v1yRnrhE

Not sure why you're quick to suck it's richard.  It's a mod that practically lets you do the entire game, but requiring end-game resources.  So once you've made whatever machine to automatically harvest resources you've pretty much accomplished creative mode.  Biggest waste of time and anyone who thinks that is enjoyable must have not much better else to do.

thank you based optifine

nvm, now just getting chunk glitches.  think I'll pass for now again.

Better Than Wolves is the best Tech Mod id say.

Thaumcraft is also very fun and interesting

Buildcraft is only good for transporting items. Redpower is only good for redstone, the rest sucks (cough rubber trees)

IC2 is also boring after a while

Redpower World looks hella interesting.  I see super giant volcanoes.
