"we're poking some on our servers"?

like, they're poking the hearts of their servers? wtf am I reading

Open heart servery.

no they aren't, they're just biome specific

which makes them rarer you silly man

you can find diamonds in all biomes, but you can only find emeralds in extreme hills biomes, and they're about a rare as gold anyways in those biomes

Today, lighting! I think I solved the half slab lighting glitch, and I had a late night revelation on how to greatly speed up lighting too.

When two people break a block that appears

Welp, apocalypse confirmed

Played some tekkit

Done most of the IC low-voltage stuff, been coding for Computercraft for the last uhh

Uhhhhhhh

six hours
no seven
yeah seven hours

HEY i made a remote authentication system :D
It runs on a pure client-server architecture, ie one server serves any clients who are configured to connect to it
There's also an auto-config whereby it can be installed from a disk, and it will automatically detect a connected modem (and prompt for what direction your cable connection is in if you're not connected wirelessly) and even broadcast for any servers you're connected to, once you auth with a server it writes out the config and reboots the terminal automatically.
The terminal then boots into login mode, where it first attempts to detect the server, and if the server doesn't respond the terminal will time out and shutdown. Once you authenticate with the server, you're given full access to the terminal.
I'm thinking next I'll make a mail system, which will let you know about any new mail when you login. I also need to make your logins time out (so if you don't contact the server for a given period of time, the server sends a timeout packet to the terminal and removes your serverside auth) so you can't just leave stuff logged in, and...

Yeah Computercraft is fun

Their solution to showing block breaking to other players was basically to add an overlay block that shows breaking, which isn't always bound to the block in question. So it can bug out like that.

At this point I think it's almost official; slab/stair lighting glitches are gone. Also lighting is fairly speedy now! (Compared to earlier)

Working on worldgen blackspots now, and then nether lighting lag. Thanks to @SethBling for giving me a map to test slab/stair lighting with!

Our engine supports fancy lighting control now, so that could be fun to play around with; one-way light filters, or directional light maybe?

Reminder: @jeb_ is on holiday this week, so we're not going to put out a snapshot - there will not be a 12w39a sorry :(
